In February 2017, Prabal Gurung ended his show with a parade of feminist tees featuring phrases like “This Is What a Feminist Looks Like,” “Voices for Choices,” and “We Will Not Be Silenced.” A year later, his collection took inspiration from two female-dominated Asian cultures. Activism is built into designer Gurung’s ethos and the celebration of female empowerment serves as a constant focal point of his designs.
