Nowhere in Europe is shopping such a delight as in Paris. Paris is the city of fashion and of luxury par excellence. Every French and international fashion label is rep­resented here with a flagship store, many created by famous ar­chitects or designers, as was the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs Elysees, where numerous artists cooperated, including JamesTur-rell, Olafur Eliasson and Vanessa Beecroft - a good way to combine fashion with art. But even just a stroll through Paris is a pleasure in itself, whether you saunter along elegant rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and stylish Avenue Mon­taigne, or walk through the alley­ways of the Rive Gauche, where you will come across Christian Louboutin's trendy shoe shop, or the lingerie boutique Sabbia Rosa.   But there are younger, up-and-coming places to visit, such as the concept store Colette, or Lucien Pellat-Finet's cashmere house, which sells pullovers in lively colours with knitted hemp-leaf patterns. If you've had enough of stylishness, go toTati, the almost-cult bargain department store on Boulevard Rochechouart. And should you need a sit-down be­tween shops, there are lovely cafes, bistros and restaurants everywhere — there really is no more delightful place to shop.
